Letter From The Chair

This is an exciting and busy year for Friends of the Nyacks! This year will be the fifth annual Art Walk and the twentieth Mostly Music season, two great events in one Village that should not be missed.More information about dates is inside the newsletter and at friendsofthenyacks.org for Mostly Music and nyackmerchants.org for Art Walk.We are currently in the process of updating our website and look forward to presenting our new and beautiful site.Mostly Music will also be moving back to Tuesday evenings. This year’s musical lineup is fabulous. Our Distinguished Citizen Award went to Jerry Koblin of Koblin’s Pharmacy for all his years of service to our communities. It was a remarkable evening. You can read more about it inside this newsletter. Spring marked the beginning of our Walking Tours. If you have never taken a Friends of the Nyacks Walking Tour I encourage you to check the schedule inside, pick one, and do it! These are a wonderful way to learn even more about the neighborhoods we love to live in. And if you know someone who is new to Nyack, please pass on our information as we have New to Nyack socials for new residents. Many of the current Steering Committee members once met at a New To Nyack function!

This August, The Merchants’ Committee is planning to bring Cinda Baxter, the founder of The 3/50 Project, to Nyack to speak to our business community. Cinda is a world class speaker and an avid supporter of “Main Street” businesses. Check our website for more information and for ticket sales. This promises to be a great event. More information about The 3/50 Project is inside.

Congratulations to our new affiliate, ArtsRock, on its successful first season of programming. More information on ArtsRock appears inside. We look forward to seeing you at our programs and events this year!

All the best,
Danielle Watson
